Privacy Policy
Effective May 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Uaqyt handles personal data when you use our mobile app, website, and related services. We do not sell personal data, and we use tracking only to measure our own advertising — and only with your permission.
About this policy
Uaqyt is a prayer tracking and reminder app that lets Muslims share their prayer activity with friends they have personally added. This policy covers the Uaqyt mobile app, the uaqyt.app website, and the backend services that support them.
What we collect and why
We collect only what is needed to run the app: - Account information you provide when signing in, such as email, name, and the authentication identifier from Google or Apple. - Prayer activity you record in the app and the settings that control how prayer times are calculated. - Approximate or precise location, used to calculate prayer times for where you are. - Social connections you create yourself, such as friend requests, friendships, and related actions. - Technical and diagnostic data needed to keep the app stable and secure, such as device information, push notification tokens, and crash logs. - Purchase information when you upgrade to Jamaah premium, processed through Apple or Google. We use this data to provide the app, calculate prayer times, deliver reminders, share prayer status with friends you accept, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
Sharing with friends
Uaqyt is private by default. You only share prayer activity with people you have added as friends, and you can hide your activity from any individual friend or from all friends at any time. You can also block a user, which removes the connection and stops further interaction. We do not display your prayer activity publicly and we do not share it with anyone other than the friends you have accepted.
Location and notifications
If you grant location permission, we use your location to calculate prayer times and timezone. You can deny or revoke this permission in your device settings; the app remains usable with reduced functionality. If you allow notifications, we use them to deliver prayer reminders and social events such as friend activity. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of well-known providers to run Uaqyt, including authentication providers (Apple, Google), email delivery, push notifications, payments and entitlements (App Store, Play Store, RevenueCat), analytics, and crash reporting. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service and under their own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal data. We share only limited data with our advertising-measurement partner, as described below.
Advertising and measurement
We advertise Uaqyt on third-party platforms such as Meta. To measure whether those ads work, the app includes the Meta SDK, which may share limited device and event data — such as app installs and an advertising identifier — to attribute an install to a campaign. On iOS this happens only if you allow tracking when the app asks; if you decline, it stays off. You can change this at any time in your device settings. We use this data only to measure our own advertising, not for third-party ad targeting.
Data retention and account deletion
We keep personal data while your account is active and only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with the law, and prevent abuse. You can delete your account from the app settings at any time. We remove or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep limited records for legal, security, or payment reasons. If you need help, email [email protected].
Security
We use standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, access controls, short-lived authentication tokens, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure — please protect your device, email, and app store account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. If the changes are material, we will give notice in the app or on the website at least 30 days before they take effect. Privacy: [email protected] Support: [email protected]
